Delicius and Conad join CardioRace 2025 to support heart health

From 3 to 5 October, Rome’s Capannelle Racecourse will host CardioRace 2025, the event organised by INRC (the Italian National Institute for Cardiovascular Research) to raise awareness of the importance of cardiovascular prevention.

Delicius is proud to take part alongside Conad as a partner in an event that brings together sport, nutrition education and attention to heart health.

The values behind the partnership

Delicius and Conad share a common vision centred on quality, transparency and social responsibility.

For Delicius, that means carefully selecting the best oily fish and preserving both its flavour and nutritional benefits. For Conad, it means supporting balanced lifestyles and making wholesome products accessible to Italian families every day.

Their participation in CardioRace reflects this shared commitment to raising awareness of how everyday choices – from physical activity to balanced nutrition – can help prevent cardiovascular disease.

A race pack designed around wellbeing

This year’s race pack will include two products closely associated with a healthy diet:

  • Delicius mackerel, naturally rich in Omega-3 and supportive of heart and brain health
  • Conad nuts, a source of healthy fats, fibre and essential minerals

When consumed in moderation, nuts are recognised by numerous studies as a functional food. They support cholesterol control, help maintain stable blood sugar levels and provide plant proteins and antioxidants that contribute to cardiovascular wellbeing.

Delicius mackerel also plays an important role in heart health. Rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, high-quality proteins and essential micronutrients, it helps keep triglyceride levels under control, supports brain function and contributes to arterial health.

Its inclusion in the race pack reflects the idea that prevention begins with everyday choices. This message is closely aligned with the Longevity Nutrition Program, developed by Delicius together with INRC (the Italian National Institute for Cardiovascular Research) to promote informed eating habits and highlight oily fish as a sustainable superfood.

Alongside the products, participants will also receive a booklet created with INRC featuring the 10 golden rules of the Mediterranean diet, simple recipes and practical advice on exercise, hydration and sleep.

A digital version of the booklet is also available for download.

It’s an invitation to take care of your heart, starting with what’s on your plate.

Longevity Nutrition Program – a prevention pathway

Delicius is participating in the CardioRace as part of the wider Longevity Nutrition Program, developed with INRC to promote a more informed approach to nutrition.

Through scientific studies, recipes and educational initiatives, the programme demonstrates how oily fish – particularly mackerel and sardines – can become a sustainable superfood that supports balanced nutrition and lifestyles aimed at preventing heart disease.

Open to everyone

CardioRace is not only a competitive race, but an event for the whole family. The programme includes non-competitive walks, free health check-ups, showcooking sessions, children’s workshops and opportunities to meet health professionals.

Taking part means sharing values linked to wellbeing, responsibility and the future, while offering practical tools to help people take care of themselves and those they love.
